  1. Bring in a document you already have

    • Attach a document already in Saphion, without making a second copy of it
    • The preview panel is a permanent part of the workspace, not a pop-up
    • Diagrams open on the full surface, where they can actually be read

    What's new

    You can now bring a document you already hold in Saphion into a conversation by reference. Nothing is copied and no second version is created — the conversation points at the file where it already lives, and the file keeps its own identity and provenance.

    How it behaves

    Attaching by reference means a conversation never becomes another place documents accumulate. What you attached is the document where it lives, not a snapshot taken at the moment you attached it, so there is never a question of which copy is the real one.

    The workspace

    The preview panel is now a permanent capability of the workspace rather than something summoned and dismissed, so reading a source and continuing the conversation are one activity. Opening a document puts the sources list away instead of stacking panels on top of each other.

    Diagrams

    A diagram Saphion AI draws now opens on the full surface rather than in the side panel. A diagram squeezed into a narrow column is not a diagram anyone can read.

    What this means

    The material you are working from should be reachable without being duplicated. This closes the gap between a document being in Saphion and a document being in this conversation.

  2. Research that does not stop at the first result

    • Saphion AI plans what evidence a question needs before it starts looking
    • It reads further into a source rather than stopping at the first page
    • One answer can draw on your documents, connected systems, Directory and the web

    What's new

    Finding things has been rebuilt around planning rather than searching. Saphion AI works out what evidence a question actually needs, decides where that evidence would live, and composes an answer from several sources at once — instead of running a single search and reporting what came back.

    Reading properly

    A source is now read progressively. Where the answer is not in the first part of a long document or a long set of results, Saphion AI can page further into it rather than reporting what it happened to see first, and it tells you when it has done so.

    Where it looks

    Your Organisation's documents, your connected systems, your people Directory and the open web now all answer through the same evidence contract. A single answer can draw on more than one of them and still show exactly where each part came from.

    What this means

    The difference between a quick answer and a useful one is usually how far something was prepared to read. This is Saphion AI reading further before it starts writing.

  3. You can see the work, while it happens

    • Activity and Status shows meaningful work, not a list of tool calls
    • A finished step says where it worked and what it found
    • A citation that turns out not to hold is corrected, never quietly dropped

    What's new

    While Saphion AI works you now see the work itself: which step it is on, where that step is happening, and what it came back with. It reads as an account of the job rather than a log of the machinery underneath it.

    How it behaves

    A step says what it is doing before it does it, and when it settles it says where it worked and what it found. Where an external system was involved, that system is marked from the first moment rather than appearing only at the end, and anything produced along the way appears as a compact file row you can open.

    Citations

    A citation is treated as evidence rather than decoration. Where a source turns out not to support what was said, the citation is corrected — and correcting it never silently removes an answer you were already reading.

    Questions

    When Saphion AI needs a decision from you, it asks after it has responded rather than instead of responding. You get the thinking and the question, not a question standing in place of the work.

    What this means

    Confidence in this kind of work comes from being able to watch it. The aim was to make the work legible without making it noisy.

  4. Method Statements, configured like everything else

    • A Method Statement is now configuration your Organisation owns, not a special case
    • Each document in a set resolves its own drafting contract
    • A generated document carries your Organisation's name, not Saphion's

    What's new

    Method Statements now run on the same configuration contract as Risk Assessments. What a Method Statement contains, in what order, in whose approved wording, is your Organisation's published and versioned configuration rather than something built into the product.

    How it behaves

    Where a job produces more than one document, each document resolves its own drafting contract — so a Risk Assessment and a Method Statement are each composed to their own rules instead of sharing one compromise. The parts that should be deterministic are composed deterministically from your approved content rather than re-invented each time.

    Fail loudly

    Publishing a configuration containing a key the product does not recognise now fails at the moment of publishing. A setting that no longer exists can no longer sit quietly in a configuration appearing to do something.

    What this means

    The output is your business's Method Statement, named for your Organisation and built from what your Organisation has approved. A competent person still reviews and approves it — that has not changed and will not.

  5. You decide what Saphion AI may do

    • Capability permissions are grouped, set by you, and changeable at any time
    • Every connected system has its own page, described in its own terms
    • What Saphion AI remembers about how you work is yours, and lives in Settings

    What's new

    Settings now holds the decisions that govern how Saphion AI acts on your behalf: which capabilities it may use, what it remembers about how you like to work, what happens to your conversation data, and which external systems you are connected to.

    Permissions

    Capabilities are grouped so a decision covers a kind of work rather than an individual tool name. Your choices are recorded as decisions you can return to and change, and they are enforced at the moment work actually runs — not merely used to decide what to show you.

    Connected systems

    Each connected system now has a page of its own. A provider describes itself in its own vocabulary rather than through a generic connector form, so what you are looking at reads like the system you actually use.

    What this means

    The line between what Saphion AI can see and what Saphion AI may do belongs to you. It is now in one place, in language that says what it means.

  6. Every file opens in the same place

    • One preview workspace for documents, spreadsheets, images and drawings
    • Scroll a document continuously, zoom, or type a page number to jump
    • A file Saphion cannot display says so, rather than showing you nothing

    What's new

    Files now open in one shared preview workspace wherever you meet them — a generated document, something attached to a conversation, or a file in a connected system. It behaves the same way every time, in tabs, beside your work rather than in place of it.

    How it behaves

    Documents scroll continuously instead of a page at a time; you can zoom, and type a page number to go straight there. Spreadsheets, images, drawings and plain text each get a renderer suited to them, sharing one visual language, so moving between file types never means learning a new viewer.

    What preview is not

    Preview is read-only, and is never treated as the file itself. PDFs are shown from their own bytes and Office files are rendered for viewing only. Nothing you see in a preview becomes a second version of the document.

    Deliberately explicit

    Where a file type has no renderer, the preview says so plainly. It will not show a blank pane, and it will not show an approximation of a file it cannot actually display.

  7. Saphion AI can see what you show it

    • Attach a photograph, screenshot or drawing and Saphion AI reads it
    • The original image is kept, with the same provenance as any other file
    • An image reaches Saphion AI only once its source has authorised you

    What's new

    You can now attach an image to a conversation — a site photograph, a screenshot of something that went wrong, a marked-up drawing — and Saphion AI works from what is in it rather than from your description of it.

    How it behaves

    An image is an ordinary attachment on your message. The original file is kept exactly as you sent it, with the same identity and provenance as any other file in Saphion, and it is still there when you return to the conversation later.

    Working with your Organisation

    Access is checked at the source. An image reaches Saphion AI only once the system holding it has confirmed you, your Organisation and the workspace you are working in. An unsupported or malformed image fails before it goes anywhere, rather than being quietly ignored.

    What this means

    A photograph is often the fastest way to explain a situation on site. This makes showing something as ordinary as describing it.

  8. Working with the documents you already have

    • Connect SharePoint once, and Saphion AI can search and read what you are allowed to see
    • Answers cite the SharePoint file they came from
    • Connecting is a single approval — no setup forms, no mapping, no second consent

    What's new

    Saphion AI can now work with the documents your business already keeps in SharePoint. An administrator connects the Organisation once through Microsoft, and from that point Saphion AI can search and read SharePoint content as part of answering a question or preparing a piece of work.

    Working with your Organisation

    It sees exactly what you see. Access is resolved against your own Microsoft permissions every time, so connecting an Organisation never widens what an individual can reach, and a colleague with narrower access gets narrower results.

    Connected work

    Connecting is deliberately one step. Once the Microsoft sign-in completes the connection is usable — there is no resource picker, no mapping screen and no second approval to find. You can mention SharePoint directly in the composer when you want an answer grounded there.

    What this means

    This is the first of Saphion's connected systems, and it is the shape the rest will follow: your existing business context becomes something Saphion AI can reason over, rather than something you have to copy into it.

    Deliberately not included yet

    This release is read and search only. Saphion AI cannot create, edit, move, upload, share or delete anything in SharePoint, and will say so rather than attempt it. Any future ability to change a connected system will be released separately and explicitly.

  9. Your people, your teams, your access

    • Admins manage members, roles and teams from one Organisation page
    • Invitations are delivered and secured by the identity provider, never by us
    • Access is resolved from live membership on every sign-in

    What's new

    Organisation administrators now manage their own people directly: invite someone, set whether they are an Admin, Member or Viewer, group them into teams, change a role, or remove access — all from one page, without asking Saphion to do it.

    How access works

    An invitation is delivered and secured by our identity provider, not by us: Saphion never sees or stores a password, and the invitation link and its expiry belong to the same system that handles sign-in. When the invitation is accepted the person joins that Organisation with the role they were invited as.

    Reliability

    Access is now resolved from live membership at sign-in, so someone removed from an Organisation loses access immediately rather than at the end of a session.

    What this means

    Day-to-day access administration stops being a support request. Teams group people for convenience; roles and product access remain the things that actually grant anything.

  10. A clearer way around Saphion

    • A rebuilt Home that opens on the products you actually hold
    • Organisation Libraries becomes a destination of its own
    • Star anything you return to, and find it in the sidebar — since removed

    What's new

    The application has been rebuilt around what people return to. Home opens on your products and recent work. A full products view shows what your Organisation holds and what else exists. Settings is now one consistent set of surfaces rather than a collection of pages that had grown apart.

    Your approved content

    Organisation Libraries — the reusable content your business has approved — is now its own destination rather than something reached from inside a single product. Each library is a proper working surface: a table you can scan, filter and edit, built from that library's own structure so every type behaves the same way.

    Small things that add up

    Favourites was announced in this release. It has since been removed: starring only reordered a list you could already see, search and open, so the sidebar now lists your conversations by recency alone.

    What this means

    As more of the working day happens inside Saphion, getting back to the right place matters as much as the work itself.

  11. Skills, Mentions, and showing its sources

    • Ask for a Skill by name, or just describe what you want
    • Mention a specific source with @ when you want the answer grounded there
    • Every answer declares which sources it actually worked from

    What's new

    Two ways of steering Saphion AI, and one way of checking it. Skills are named pieces of professional capability — invoke one directly from the composer, or simply describe the job and let Saphion AI reach the right Skill itself. Mentions let you point at a particular source with @ when you want an answer grounded in that specific place.

    Sources you can check

    Answers now declare the sources they were actually built from, and your Organisation's own approved content is citable alongside everything else. A citation refers to the thing the answer genuinely used — it is not a claim that something was consulted.

    Working with your Organisation

    Which Skills are available is governed per Organisation rather than assumed. If something is not released to you, Saphion AI says so plainly instead of improvising an answer that implies it did the work.

    What this means

    You can direct Saphion AI when you know exactly what you want, describe the problem when you do not, and check where the answer came from either way.

  12. Every generated document kept, exactly as issued

    • Each generation produces a complete, immutable Word version
    • One clearly current version, with earlier ones preserved unchanged
    • Read a document in the browser without downloading it

    Document workflow

    Generating a RAMS now produces a complete Word document, published in one step and kept exactly as it was issued. Producing a new version never rewrites an old one: earlier versions stay as they were, while one clearly current version stays unambiguous.

    Reading without downloading

    A fast, read-only preview shows the document in the browser, built from the same content and Organisation configuration as the Word file itself — so what you read on screen is the document, not an approximation of it.

    Changes through Saphion AI

    Where you ask Saphion AI to change a document, the change passes the same permission checks as any other action and produces a complete new version rather than editing a file in place. Word remains the editing surface; Saphion does not pretend to be a word processor.

    For competent persons

    None of this moves professional responsibility. Saphion AI proposes and drafts; the competent person reviews and approves, and that judgement stays outside the software.

  13. Plans — it shows the work before doing it

    • Broad requests become a visible plan you can read first
    • Anything with a real consequence pauses for your approval
    • Approval is for that step, on that occasion — never a standing permission

    What's new

    Ask for something that takes several steps and Saphion AI now proposes the whole sequence as a plan you can read before any of it happens, then works through it while showing you where it has got to.

    Where it stops

    Planning freely and acting freely are deliberately different things. Reading, searching and drafting proceed; anything that changes something real pauses and asks. That approval applies to that step on that occasion — it is never remembered, and never becomes a mode that keeps acting on your behalf.

    What this means

    You get an assistant that can take on a whole job rather than one instruction at a time, without ever discovering afterwards that it changed something you had not agreed to.

  14. A public Saphion

    • saphion.co.uk relaunched, with a page for every product and service
    • Our security and data-handling position published in full
    • Analytics only with consent, and a genuine choice either way

    What's new

    Saphion's public site has been rebuilt: what the platform does, what each product is for, how an implementation actually runs, and what our technology-services line does and does not take on.

    Trust and data

    Our approach to access, tenancy separation, data handling and retention is now written down and published, so it can be reviewed before a conversation with us rather than during one.

    Privacy

    The site asks about analytics cookies with both answers given equal weight, honours a browser-level privacy signal automatically, and works fully whichever answer you give.

  15. Saphion AI becomes a professional assistant, not a form filler

    • Answers ordinary professional questions directly and well
    • Researches the public web when a task genuinely depends on current information
    • Web-sourced material arrives cited, and ranked below your Organisation's own content

    What's new

    Saphion AI stopped being a document tool that also talks. Reasoning and answering became a capability in their own right: a question that needs no tool at all is answered directly, from context and reasoning, rather than routed through machinery built for something else.

    Research

    Where a task genuinely depends on current external information, Saphion AI can research the public web and bring back cited sources. Anything from the open web is clearly marked as such and ranked below your Organisation's own approved content — it can inform an answer, never quietly outrank what your business has decided.

    What this means

    This is the release where Saphion AI started to be worth opening for its own sake, rather than only when a document needed producing.

  16. One Saphion, one Organisation

    • One shared application, with products enabled per Organisation
    • Admin, Member and Viewer roles applying consistently across everything
    • Commercial terms handled properly, outside the application

    Where this history starts

    Version 1.0 is the point at which Saphion became one thing rather than several. A customer is one Organisation; people belong to it; products are enabled for it; and everything someone can see or do resolves from that.

    What's new

    One shared application across every product, with per-product access decided per Organisation and a single role model — Admin, Member, Viewer — applying consistently rather than being reinvented per surface.

    Commercial

    Pricing, invoicing and payment were removed from the product entirely. Commercial terms are agreed with Saphion directly; the application never meters you, never gates work behind a payment state and has no checkout.

    What this means

    Everything after this release builds on one platform, one identity and one set of rules — which is what made the products and the Saphion AI releases above possible.
